Meet Daniel R. Magill, Esq.
Daniel R. Magill, Esq.
Daniel R. Magill, Esq., was born and raised in Scottsville New York. Daniel R. Magill, Esq., (who goes by Dan), was appointed Village of Scottsville Attorney in May 2017. Since April 2015, Dan has been the Town Attorney for the Town of Conesus, and personally handles the Town's complex land use litigation.
For the past six years, Dan has focused his legal practice on litigation and criminal matters. Dan represents clients on various charges and has handled everything from misdemeanors to murder trials; Dan has also conducted seven felony trials. After practicing law for only 2.5 years, Dan obtained a complete acquittal following a jury trial where his client was charged with three felonies.
Dan has extensive appellate experience, authoring eight appellate briefs. Dan has argued four appeals at the Fourth Department Appellate Division, winning three of those appeals. After objecting to inadmissible evidence at a felony trial, he appealed his client's convictions to the Fourth Department Appellate Division, and client's convictions were overturned. Three of his criminal appeals from local court to County Court resulted in two complete exonerations and one re-trial.
"For the past three years, Dan has demonstrated that his litigation work product can keep pace with the biggest and most respected law firms in Rochester."
